Einstein predicts Bush
June 13, 2008 at 7:16 pm | In Uncategorized | No CommentsOk so it’s obvious I worship Einstein, but this quote truly takes the cake:
Any intelligent fool can make things bigger, more complex, and more violent. It takes a touch of genius - and a lot of courage - to move in the opposite direction.
Sounds like the state of America and especially the Bush administration. I only hope we found our genius and put him in office.
“Avoiding groups of people”
April 25, 2008 at 4:35 pm | In Uncategorized | No CommentsPhew!! Thank Buddha I’m not traveling back to The Netherlands this weekend. A travel warning has been issued on the US Consulate website due to a major soccer match. The Dutchies might get rowdy. Oh my!!!
American citizens are advised to avoid the area around the Stadhuisplein, Coolsingel and surrounding areas in central Rotterdam on April 27-28, and to exercise caution, avoiding groups of people.
My stars!!! Avoid “groups of people”. Let’s see in a busy urban environment…how do you do that? Hmmmmmmm. Oh I know!! You grab your omafiets and skee-daddle yourself out to the Dutch countryside to hang with the cows.

“Avoiding groups of people” indeed!!!! Next the U.S. government will be telling us to just “avoid people”. Ha!
Wilders Obsessie
March 12, 2008 at 5:31 pm | In Uncategorized | No CommentsMeneer Petimezas is helemaal “obsessed” met het Wilders verhaal. Ik vind de man gewoon vreselijk. Maar voor Mark is het heel erg interresant als journalist om het allemaal to volgen. Grrrrr. Wat moet ik? Een Wilders masker dragen om een beetje aandacht te krijgen? Eeeeeewwwww
Candyland part 2
December 21, 2007 at 3:29 am | In Uncategorized | No CommentsWell I couldn’t resist and had to find out if the candyland Christmas house glowed at night. It did not disappoint.

The life size snowglobe that doesn’t need shaking is awesome (sorry but my little cam just couldn’t capture it)! It doesn’t beat the 8 foot snowman on the fire escape of another building though.
P.S. Bajram Mubarek Olsun! Despite having no heat I enjoyed my day off courtesy of the muslim cohabitants of this planet, (thanks to Vedrana for explaining it to me).
Winter wonderland? No, candyland…

Wow now this is some serious Christmas cheer! Funny or disturbing? I’m laughing.

I nominate this for daaahhhmmm “What’s with That House?“
And I’m going to walk by this evening to see if it lights up too. How do I always manage to end up in the neighborhood with the loudest xmas deco? My last neighborhood in Northern Va was on TV and in the papers!!! Hmmmm (pinky to the lip) that calls for some serious soul searching and self-reflection!
Not awall just on temporary leave
October 15, 2007 at 1:37 am | In Uncategorized | 1 CommentI’ve now relocated to New York City and am living like a gypsy. I am subletting until my husband comes over from Europe later this year. I started working full-time and spend most evenings looking for housing. It’s great to be here!!! It ’s not original but I don’t care: “I love NY”!!!!!
I’ve been keeping up with everyone through my reader, I just have not been able to concentrate long enough to write. I am currently in Brooklyn, and will move to Harlem over the weekend (after a couple of nights at a friend’s in the UES and a trip to DC). I’ll be staying put in Harlem for 3 weeks though, so I should definitely have time to get a few posts up then.
Soon I’ll be ranting and raving some more on social and cultural context, activism and social justice. See you around!
Por que si
July 30, 2007 at 11:01 pm | In Uncategorized | No CommentsI have created this blog, because I can. It’s as simple as that. I have the means and the will. I promise to exercise my right to free speech for the good of women and minorities.
I am only one voice, not the voice, but I am loud and proud and have been told I have a gift for expression. I promise to use this gift for good the good of women and minorities.
Join me if you like. Condemn me if you like. But either way I’ll continue to think, write and develop.
