Bill Richardson for Secretary of State

Oh, oh, oh now Bill Richardson meeting with Chavez is a very very interesting twist. I’m sure Bill will be berated for meeting with the monster, but all I can say is “it’s about time!“. Seriously how does this country expect to resolve any problems if the government refuses to talk to anybody or negotiate with anyone. Sticking your head in the sand just doesn’t work. Procrastinating and ignoring doesn’t make things disappear.

Hmm, how about Bill replacing Condi? Somehow I just couldn’t see him as Prez and apparently many others felt the same way. But Secretary of State. Yeah. Seems like a good fit. He has the diplomatic, international and peace mediation experience.

We all live in this world together. I just don’t see how barreling through it, forcing your own way is the right path to peace and democracy for all.

The Folly of Attacking Iran

This video introduces a tour arranged by Just Foreign Policy to counter the Bush administration’s calls for military confrontation with Iran. Please watch the video and check the site for dates when it will be near you!

We don’t need anymore war!! Peace and dialogue are the only way to ensure the survival and spread of democracy. And I don’t mean some Western definition of democracy but rather context-specific and self-defined.

Is the fate of the world in the grubby hands of two idiots?

After reading Live From New York, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s Unreality Show slamming the Iranian leader’s claims during his two appearances on Monday, I couldn’t help but make a connection to our own totally incompetent leader. Just when we thought he couldn’t get any dumber, Bush declares Mandela dead and argues that individuals and their doctors should have control over their health care, not the federal government. Can someone please explain to him that people without health insurance DON’T HAVE doctors!

In a scathing interview on CNN, Donald Trump openly declared that Bush is possibly the worst president in our history and he thinks that Bush should ‘go into a corner and hide’. Trumps states with conviction: “IT’S ALL A BIG LIE” “EVERYTHING IS A LIE”.

Are we going to sit back and allow two morons tripping over their own lies to bring the world into a war that could possibly destroy us all? We want freedom and democracy, well we have to work at it. So let’s get to work. Register to vote, protest, read new and alternative sources of information, talk to your neighbors, meet up with others, learn more about the world and respecting diversity. Just take some action!

Why bother? Because I can’t not bother

Sometimes I think “Why do I bother?” I mean why keep going on and on and fighting and fighting, talking about sexism, racism and equality for all. People say, “It’s good now, look how good things are.” “Women have equal rights.” “Blacks have civil rights.”

And yes, for me, things are good, not perfect, but good. But then I read about others who aren’t so lucky and I remember why I bother.

Because as long as anyone is oppressed, suppressed, abused or suffering due to poverty and lack of rights, there’s something to fight for and fortunately there are many people out there fighting:

Why the right resorts to name calling

So Jimmy Carter speaks out in the Israel-Palestine issue and Jimmy Carter gets smeared. Why is it that the right always sounds like that bully on the playground?

Oh yeah? Well you suck!!! (punch)

Is it because they have no way to legitimate their violence and money-grubbing? Jimmy Carter is a kind human being who is working for peace. Meanwhile, the Bush Administration seems so content killing Iraqis and young American men and women that it wants to expand into Iran as well.

I’m sorry but who is the real “liar who modifies the truth to suit his purposes“?
